My approach to helping you teach your little one the necessary skills to improve their sleep starts with a one-on-one consultation. During this consultation, which will last for almost an hour and a half, I will get to know you and your family. This will include getting a sense of who you are, your child’s personality, and your family’s sleep goals. This will help me identify what is working and what is not so that I can provide the best advice for you and your family.

When it comes to helping your child get a good night’s sleep, I understand that every child is different and that you know your child best. That’s why I’m here to provide you with a step-by-step plan that allows you to make choices that are right for your child. This plan is easy to follow and will help you customize your child’s sleep plan to meet their individual needs. With this plan, you can ensure your child gets the rest they need for restful nights and happier days.

Measuring success with sleep training involves setting expectations. I don’t expect your child to sleep 12 uninterrupted hours on the first night, although it has happened! Instead, we will measure success by the gradual progress your child makes in learning how to fall asleep and stay asleep independently. Achieving small goals such as staying in bed for a certain amount of time (when they haven’t done it ever before), falling asleep without your help, and sleeping through the night are all signs of progress. It is important to celebrate these accomplishments and each milestone as your child moves closer to successful sleep training.

What about the tears?

I’m so glad that you’re here asking about crying it out! It’s an important topic to address, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to explain my program. I always make sure to let parents know that some protest from their child is expected when changing their sleep habits. But don’t worry – With my sleep support program, you will never have to leave your child to cry alone or to ignore their cries (see Cry-it-out methods). Based on what you know about your child, I will develop a sleep plan that you feel comfortable with.
